Over time, the Monastery has been occupied by many different rulers ranging from Latin- Greek and still sacred to Islam, Christianity and Judaism. The Monastery also hosts a massive collection of priceless artworks valued for their age and religious importance. Of course, the Monastery is also the site for the bottom of Mount Sinai, also known as Mount Moses, the place where it is said that the biblical figure of Moses climbed to the top and pointed to the promised land.
