A real opportunity to visit one of the world’s ‘Seven Wonders’ with this special day tour to Luxor, Egypt! A spectacular tour into the Valley of the Kings, the best-known burial site of Pharaohs in ancient times.
Visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning Temple with fascinating history on the West Bank of the Nile. Then on to the East Bank of Luxor City, known as ‘Thebes’ in early Phar-aonic history. Here, a visit to the Temple of Karnak, a vast Temple which was the focal point as the old capital of Egypt.
You will be collected early from your Cruise Ship at Safaga Port by our experienced Tour Guide and taken by comfortable vehicle to Luxor to begin your adventure.
On arrival in Luxor, you will head to the Valley of the Kings for your first stop at Hatshepsut Temple, famous since Queen Hatshepsut was the first female Pharaoh during the Pharaonic period. Here, you will discover the exciting history of this queen and her battle to rule under a predominantly male dynasty. A walk up to the steps of the temple gives you a perfect opportunity to take some photos of the valley’s landscape.
After the visit, you will head over to the East Bank to Luxor city. Here, lunch will be served at a local restaurant, and look at some local souvenir shops to purchase memorable gifts.
The final stop on the Luxor tour will be to the impressive site of Karnak Temple.
This temple was constructed during the Middle Kingdom and was a vast complex consisting of a village, a place of worship, a sacred lake, and gigantic pillars dedicated to the God Amun. It was considered an extremely holy place. After some damage by invaders, it is reconstructed by order of Hatshepsut during her reign.
Finally, you will be transferred back by your vehicle to Safaga Port to board your cruise ship.
