One of Oman’s favorites is the Wadis, the rock valleys, or the dry river bed, which is water-only at some point in the year, but many riverbeds have swimming pools. Wadi Bani Khalid is an amazing oasis in the desert. The collection is extensive; swimming is a refreshing activity in the desert heat. Wadi Bani Khalid is a beautiful paradise. Wadi (Valley) is located in the Ash Sharqiyah area and owns several water tanks and a spring (in Arabic, Ayn) that has been flowing within Wadi for many years. 3. Salalah

Salalah is located in southern Oman, a destination sometimes known as the second city in Muscat. Salalah is essential today because it is the home of the ancestors of Sultan Qaboos, who has ruled Oman since 1970. During your visit to Salala, you can admire the incredible palace of Qaboos, and you can appreciate the old architecture in an ancient city known as Haffa. Go back to the Al-Baleed archaeological site. Salalah is known for its frankincense, so don’t forget to pick some up as a souvenir from a souq in Haffa. 4. Jebel Akhdar

Jebel Akhdar means “Green Mountain,” It is a part of the al-Hajar mountains, but you may wonder why as you ascend its slate grey and burnt orange sides, barren except for a few thorny dried up bushes. Don’t expect a traditional mountain top, and don’t be fooled by the green false name.  The green color belongs to the villages of Saiq Plateau, 2000M above sea level. The abundance of rainfall allows the cultivation of pomegranates, grapes, peaches, apricots, and roses for pink waters, used in Omani sweets and perfumes. The Jebel Akhdar region is mainly limestone and contains the highest point in the country of Oman. Spring is a great time to visit when the roses bloom, and the terrace plantations are lush green. Jebel Akhdar is a simple one-day trip from Nizwa (or Muscat), but it takes 4Wd to climb the ski. Although dense forests do not cover the height, it provides cooler temperatures and more agricultural growth than in the desert below. The area is now protected, and you can walk through beautiful terraces and even see trees loaded with fruit. Hiking may not seem like an appealing activity in the deserts of Oman, but it is the perfect pastime in Jebel Akhdar.

5. The National Museum

The National Museum was officially opened in Muscat in December 2015, highlighting Oman’s history and culture. It covers an area of 13,700 Sqm (147,466 Sqft) and consists of 14 permanent galleries, including Oman and the world, the history of the oceans, and Islam. All of these galleries have large electronic monitors that revive the exhibits.

6. Jebel Shams

Jebel Shams is another impressive mountain in the Al Hajar mountain range. 3,028M (9,934Ft) is the highest point in the range, providing a spectacular view of the sun and stimulating the name of the sun. The mountain also has a great hiking trail system. It will take a long drive on steep and rough roads to get to the top of Jebel Shams, Oman’s highest mountain. The spectacular views of Wadi Ghul, at great depths into the earth, are worth the trip. It’s a beautiful place in Oman. A favorite activity for the tourists is the Balcony Walk, a moderately complex but dramatically take 2.5-hour hike that winds around the cliffs halfway up the canyon’s rim to the abandoned village of As Sab. The houses perched precariously on the ravine edge are made of tiny stones and mud. They are in a dangerous place, and people live there because it is the only place they can find to live.

7. Sur

Sur is the capital of the region of Al Sharqiyah in northeastern Oman. On Sur, the desert meets the sea. You will find long calming beaches, the picturesque fishing village al Ayjah, a Dhow boat building site, and only north of the turtle reserve Ras al Jinz. To account, you must book turtle watching tours (9 Pm and 5 Am) in advance. Maybe, there are no turtles on the beach when you visit in December. The high season is from May to September. 8. Muscat

If you only visit one place in Oman, it’s probably Muscat. The city is home to forts, palaces, museums, and markets, providing everything for everyone. When you can’t visit the inside of the King’s Palace, you can go to the port and look closely at this unique structure. The palace’s standing guard is the two forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani, transformed into museums open to the public. 9. Misfat Al Abryeen

Most of the old villages in Oman have been abandoned, but Misfat al-Abryeen is still alive and one of Oman’s most picturesque villages. It’s the village of the labyrinth, destroying mud houses in narrow passageways down the mountains. Under the village, you can monitor Falaj’s irrigation channels and go through a date and banana plantations. They shock the greens after the desert. While large cities in Oman may seem very modern, smaller villages such as Misfat al-Abryeen are helping to capture a more traditional atmosphere. This mountain village consists of stone buildings in the shadow of Orange and Brown. It is more like an Italian mountain village than what can be expected on the Arabian peninsula. Misfat al-Abryeen is an excellent example of life in the mountains of Oman. A steep road rises the hills, and you can walk around buildings to admire bananas and greens. 11. Nizwa

In the 6th and 7th centuries, the city of Nizwa served as the capital of Oman. Today, this city is best known for its great fortress built under the guidance of Sultan bin Saif al-Yaribi in the 17th century. However, some of the forts dating back to the 9th century. The fortress also includes interesting defense mechanisms for shooting the enemy nearby, such as honey holes and unusual windows. Fortis is also a museum that exhibits 17th-century life in Oman. While you are in Nizwa, you can also be held for two days a week in the city’s center, souq, outdoor markets, and rare goat markets.
